About University of  Maryland

University of  Maryland was established in 1856.  At first it was started as a small agricultural school with four faculty members and 35 students, later the University of Maryland has developed into a globally prominent research university with more than 37,000 students. The University of  Maryland is also referred as UM, UMD. 

UMD offers over 100 undergraduate programs and 120 graduate programs. Many of  UM faculty has been awarded nobleprize.
